SAGE Publishing and British Medical Acupuncture Society partner to publish Acupuncture in Medicine

Academic publisher SAGE Publishing will partner with British Medical Acupuncture Society (BMAS) to publish Acupuncture in Medicine (AIM), a journal exploring scientific and clinical acupuncture, from January 2019. AIM focuses on scientific acupuncture research. The journal's policy is to take the Western medical approach by using current knowledge of neurophysiology, anatomy and pathology to interpret the clinical effects of acupuncture.

Digital Science's Dimensions Badges added to IOP's journals platform, IOPscience

A new agreement between Digital Science and IOP brings Digital Science's Dimensions Badges to IOP's journals platform, IOPscience. Researchers can now find extra detail on when, where and how their work with IOP Publishing (IOP) journals is being cited. Available free to publishers whose content is entirely open access, or indexed as part of the ReadCube Discover program, the badges provide extended citation metrics for individual articles.

McGraw-Hill Education expands its free, virtual professional development series for college instructors

McGraw-Hill Education has announced a new upcoming webinar on critical thinking, the latest installment in the learning science company's free Virtual Professional Development Series for higher education faculty. The webinar, "Instill a Critical Mindset," will be hosted by Dr. Heather Collins, a cognitive scientist at the Medical University of South Carolina, and will take place on October 19, at 1 p.m. EDT.

Touch Medical Media acquires leading cardiology journal, Heart International

Publishing company Touch Medical Media has acquired Heart International, an open access, peer reviewed journal dedicated to the publication of original research and reviews on cardiovascular disease in its broadest terms. This year, the journal celebrates its 13th anniversary, and also a newly-formed strategic partnership with Interventional Academy, which is the parent organisation of Complex Cardiovascular Catheter Therapeutics (C3) Conference, as well as the appointment of Dr Rajesh Davé as Co-Editor-in-Chief.
