ConTech 2018 organisers Info International announce the second Challenges in the Scholarly Publishing Cycle conference

Info International is once again partnering with Research Information on the second Challenges in the Scholarly Publishing Cycle (CISPC) conference taking place on December 3, 2018. Info International also organises ConTech 2018 and delegates can save when they book to attend both conferences. Clarivate Analytics data powers annual Reuters' ranking of the world's most innovative universities

Reuters has released its fourth annual ranking of the world's most innovative universities, compiled in partnership with Clarivate Analytics. The fourth annual list is based on empirical data including patent filings from Derwent Innovation and research paper citations from the Web of Science to identify the educational institutions most successful in advancing science, inventing new technologies, and powering new markets and industries.

NASA piloting use of UpToDate from Wolters Kluwer on board the International Space Station for clinical decision support in space

Wolters Kluwer Health has announced that the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) is piloting the use of UpToDate® on board the International Space Station (ISS). Since internet connectivity is limited aboard the ISS, NASA is using UpToDate MobileCompleteTM to enable access to UpToDate content without continuous internet access. With all UpToDate content downloaded locally to an iPad, astronauts have seamless offline access to the latest comprehensive clinical content that spans more than 11,000 clinical topics.

American Chemical Society names Dr. Thomas Holme new editor-in-chief of the Journal of Chemical Education

The American Chemical Society (ACS) has announced the appointment of Dr. Thomas Holme, professor of chemistry at Iowa State University, as the next editor-in-chief of the Journal of Chemical Education. Holme will initially serve in conjunction with current Editor-in-Chief Dr. Norbert J. Pienta, with the formal transition taking place in January 2020.

IOP Publishing and Egyptian Knowledge Bank partner to provide access to all Egyptian researchers

IOP Publishing (IOP) and the Egyptian Knowledge Bank (EKB) have announced a new agreement as a result of which researchers and readers in Egypt will now gain access to all IOP Publishing's (IOP) journals and ebooks. IOP and the EKB have signed a three-year contract enabling the whole of Egypt, including its public and private universities, research institutions, and libraries.

Digital publishing technology provider HighWire has partnered with Springer Publishing to offer digital access to its extensive collection of nursing, behavioural and health sciences, and medical content, including textbooks, professional reference and clinical books, and journals. Springer Publishing's collection of professional and academic content is now digitally available through Springer Publishing Connect, a Springer Publishing-branded site built using the Scolaris solution within the HighWire Hosting platform.

Non-profit global library cooperative OCLC has announced a partnership with the academic publisher Taylor & Francis to create and deliver high-quality catalogue records representing important scholarly works to libraries. As an OCLC cataloguing partner, Taylor & Francis will provide published works for OCLC's team of professional cataloguers to create high-quality records to be added to WorldCat and delivered to libraries.

Digital Science Russia and CIS host second annual Digital Science Russia Forum at Presidium of Russian Academy of Sciences

Research technology company Digital Science Russia & CIS recently held their second annual Forum 'Digital Science - supporting global scientific cooperation and internationalising research in Russia'. The event was supported on the highest level by Headquarters of Presidium of Russian Academy of Sciences, and took place in Alexandrinsky Palace. Digital Science Forum looked at the impact of new technologies on science, as well as the Russian and international experience in managing transformations and creating a digital infrastructure in the field of science and innovation.
