Lippincott Williams & Wilkins set to publish Inflammatory Bowel Diseases journal

Healthcare information provider Wolters Kluwer Health (WK Health) and the Crohn's & Colitis Foundation of America, Inc. (CCFA) have announced an agreement to publish the journal Inflammatory Bowel Diseases. Effective with the January 2013 issue, Lippincott Williams & Wilkins (LWW), part of Wolters Kluwer Health, will be the journal's publisher of record.

SPARC and the World Bank to co-sponsor Open Access Week 2012 kick-off webcast

The Scholarly Publishing and Academic Resources Coalition (SPARC) and the World Bank have announced they will co-sponsor the kick-off event for Open Access Week 2012 on October 22, 2012, in Washington, DC. The live event will take place at the state of the art World Bank facilities and will host a Liveblog and Webcast for those who cannot attend in person.

OCLC Research and Open Planets Foundation to conduct Preservation Health Check Workshop at iPRES2012

Library information provider OCLC Research and the Open Planets Foundation (OPF) are conducting a Preservation Health Check pilot to analyse the quality of preservation metadata created and in use by operational repository and deposit systems and evaluate the potential of such metadata for assessing digital preservation risks. As part of this pilot, the organisations are holding a Preservation Health Workshop at the PREMIS Implementation Fair (iPRES2012) at the University of Toronto on October 2, 2012.

Five new publishers join 2013 BioOne Collections

BioOne, a web-based aggregator of research in biological, ecological and environmental sciences, has announced that five new titles and their not-for-profit publishers have joined the 2013 BioOne Collections. In 2013 BioOne will be home to 176 total publications, 127 of which are ISI-ranked. Furthermore, 60 of BioOne's titles have their current content available online exclusively through BioOne, and 38 are titles based outside of the US.

Cloud Connect Chicago to hold private cloud, security and big data workshops

Cloud Connect, an event produced by UBM TechWeb, has conducted an enterprise cloud adoption study in partnership with research firm Everest Group. This resulted in expanded new programme elements for Cloud Connect's Chicago event including focused workshops on Private Cloud, Big Data and Cloud Security.

Ingram Content Group, a provider of a range of physical and digital services to the book industry, has announced that Campus eBookstore, Inc. has selected its VitalSource Bookshelf platform to enhance and expand its e-textbook offering to institutional and retail bookstore customers. CMA joins leading Chinese publishers licensing content through CCC's Annual Copyright License and Pay-Per-Use services

Licensing solutions provider Copyright Clearance Center, Inc. (CCC) has announced an agreement with the Chinese Medical Association (CMA), the largest medical journal publisher in China. The CMA joins Science Press, the Journal of Chinese Integrated Medicine, Beijing Forestry University and Baishibeng Publishing Group as Chinese publishers using CCC's core services, the Annual Copyright License and Pay-Per-Use Services, for the licensing of their content.

Gale has launched Gale Genealogy Connect, a new online tool for genealogical research. It features over 550 reference works at release on a standalone e-book platform, with a goal of growing the collection to nearly 1,500 works. The content covers a range of topics.
