Elsevier presents clinical insight engine ClinicalKey at Health In4matic Expo

STM publisher Elsevier has announced that it presented ClinicalKey, which claims to be the world's first 'clinical insight engine', at the Health In4matics Expo. ClinicalKey initially launched in April this year, with an institutionally focused product whose primary users will be clinicians at hospitals, healthcare systems and medical schools. Beginning in Q3 2012, Elsevier will market an individual clinician version.

NFAIS to hold workshop next month on digital information and user behaviour

The NFAIS will hold a one-day workshop, Digital Information and User Behavior: Transforming Libraries, Content and Learning, on June 15 in Philadelphia from 9:00am - 4:30pm EDST. National science academies of 15 countries call on world leaders for action on global challenges

The Royal Society, the UK's national academy of science, together with national science academies of 15 countries have issued joint statements calling on world leaders about to meet at the upcoming G8 Summit and other international gatherings this year to give greater consideration to the vital role science and technology could play in addressing some of the planet's most pressing challenges. The 'G-Science' statements recommend that governments engage the international research community in developing systematic, innovative solutions to global dilemmas.

British Library Board appoints Roly Keating as new Chief Executive

The Board of the British Library, the national library of the UK, has appointed Roly Keating as the Library's new Chief Executive Officer (CEO). Keating, currently Director of Archive Content at the BBC, and a former Controller of BBC Two and BBC Four, will take up his new role on September 12, 2012.

Official journal of the American Urological Association wins 2012 ASAE Gold Circle Award

The American Urological Association (AUA) has announced that its official journal, The Journal of Urology, has won the 2012 ASAE Gold Circle Award (Peer-Reviewed Journal category). The Gold Circle Awards honour extraordinary communication efforts across nine categories. The Peer-Reviewed Journal category judged nominees on clarity, completeness of author guidelines, writing style/quality and peer-review process.

Library automation solutions provider Ex Libris Group has announced the release of version 3.0 of the Rosetta digital preservation system. This new module enables each institution to organise and manage collections in the most effective way for the institution's specific requirements. With version 3, collections can contain a number of subcollections, each with its own descriptive metadata record and access rights policy.
