LCA files friend of the court brief to defend fair use rights of libraries |
Members of the Library Copyright Alliance (LCA) recently filed a friend of the court brief to defend the fair use rights of libraries. The libraries' brief, prepared by Jonathan Band, responds to the plaintiffs' distorted view of libraries' rights, showing that it would affect not only the legitimate and beneficial uses at issue in this case, but also libraries' rights to provide the most basic services, including lending books and providing Internet access to the public. Elsevier appoints Jim Donohue as MD for Global Clinical Reference group |
STM publisher Elsevier has appointed Jim Donohue as Managing Director of the Global Clinical Reference group in Elsevier Health Sciences. In this new role, Donohue will report to Michael Hansen, CEO of Elsevier Health Sciences. One of Donohue's first responsibilities is the commercial launch in April 2012 of Elsevier's ClinicalKey, which claims to be the world's first clinical insight engine. More
