Under a strategic alliance with CPGC signed at the London Book Fair, Wolters Kluwer will bring a wide range of professional content to China. CPGC can export and publish Chinese content through Wolters Kluwer's global network. The two parties will also expand cooperation in digital products.

Emerald offers free access to environmental research in recognition of Earth Day

Academic publisher Emerald Group Publishing has announced free access to key scholarly research on renewable energy, climate change and sustainability in recognition of Earth Day. SAGE publishes International Area Studies Review

Academic publisher SAGE has announced that it now publishes the quarterly peer-reviewed publication, International Area Studies Review (IASR). IASR is the publication of the Center for International Area Studies (CIAS) at Hankuk University of Foreign Studies (HUFS), Seoul, published in collaboration with the Peace Research Institute Oslo (PRIO).

The OCLC Global Council member delegates elect Loretta Parham and Jennifer Younger to serve on the OCLC Board of Trustees

The OCLC Global Council member delegates have elected two librarians to serve on the OCLC Board of Trustees. The two librarians are: Loretta Parham, CEO and Director of the Atlanta University Center Robert W. Woodruff Library, and Jennifer Younger, Executive Director, Catholic Research Resources Alliance. Each will serve a four-year term beginning with the next OCLC Board meeting in November.

ACRL establishes four new discussion groups

The Association of College and Research Libraries (ACRL) has announced the establishment of four new discussion groups, which were approved by the ACRL Board of Directors during the 2011-2012 fiscal year. The new discussion groups are: The Digital Humanities Discussion Group; The International Perspectives on Academic and Research Libraries Discussion Group; The Leadership Discussion Group; and The Student Retention Discussion Group.

Blackboard Partners with Plantijn Hogeschool to host Teaching and Learning conference

Enterprise technology and innovative solutions provider Blackboard Inc, US, has announced details of the Teaching and Learning Conference 2012, one of the largest annual gatherings of leaders from IT and education in the region. The event is expected to draw attendees from 89 institutions and 17 countries to Antwerp, Belgium, from April 23-25 to share ideas and best practices in e-learning. Plantijn Hogeschool, a leading university college, will host the event.
