Scientific publisher Nature Publishing Group (NPG) has announced that Nature Communications and Scientific Reports are now the fastest growing journals published by NPG. Launched in 2010 and 2011 respectively, both journals reached the milestone of 2000 published papers in June 2013, and their submission and publication rates continue to grow rapidly. More

Open-access platform Libre set for October launch, academics invited to publish papers and solicit reviews |
Three academics are set to launch a new open-access platform that they hope will allow researchers to wrest control of peer review from journals and remove academic publishers' justification for charging high prices for their titles. Three new publishers participate in the CLOCKSS digital preservation archive |
The CLOCKSS Archive has announced the participation of the Philosophy Documentation Center; Reveal Digital; and the Southwest Journal of Pulmonary and Critical Care.
