BMJ launches new open access science journal - BMJ Open Science

Healthcare knowledge provider BMJ has launched BMJ Open Science – a journal applying open science principles to preclinical and basic research. The journal has open access, open peer review, and has an open data policy. BMJ Open Science has a clear focus on methodological rigour with an emphasis on transparency, integrity, and reproducibility of the evidence base in order to improve healthcare.

Atypon's online publishing platform Literatum to house The ACM Digital Library

The Association for Computing Machinery (ACM), the world's largest computing society, has selected Atypon's online publishing platform, Literatum, to house The ACM Digital Library (ACM DL). The ACM DL is the official guide to computer science research and literature, comprising not only all ACM publications, including journals, conferences proceedings, technical magazines, newsletters and books, but also a comprehensive bibliographic database with over two million entries from nearly all scholarly publishers in computing.

Frontiers and Heidelberg University announce institutional agreement

Heidelberg University has established an institutional membership agreement with Frontiers as part of its Open Access Publishing Fund. Publication fees / article processing charges for manuscripts submitted to Frontiers journals can be supported by Heidelberg University's Open Access Publishing Fund according to the Fund's funding conditions. A prerequisite for this financial support is an approved funding application, which Heidelberg University researchers can submit via the University's web application form.

UCL Press and University of Chicago Press announce new North America print distribution partnership

UCL Press has announced a new marketing and distribution partnership with University of Chicago Press, the publishing imprint of the University of Chicago, USA. Effective January 1, 2018, the University of Chicago Press will distribute, sell, and market UCL Press books in North America. UCL Press publishes authors from UCL as well as many other institutions and makes all its books freely available online, as well as selling print copies through traditional retail channels.
