All SNSF research publications to become freely available as of 2020

As of 2020, all research publications produced by SNSF-funded projects will be freely available in digital format. Based on the decision by the National Research Council, the Swiss National Science Foundation (SNSF) will expect all publications to be available free of charge as of 2020 as Open Access is quickly becoming the accepted standard in science.

Frontiers and École Polytechnique Fédérale de Lausanne (EPFL) form OA publishing agreement

The library of the École polytechnique fédérale de Lausanne (EPFL Library) supports EPFL authors in publishing research articles in Gold open access. As part of this support the EPFL Library has entered an institutional agreement with Frontiers. Under the terms of this agreement EPFL-affiliated researchers who are corresponding authors will benefit from a 15% discount on article-processing charges (APCs) when publishing in any of Frontiers' (currently 60) open access journals, irrespective of whether (part of) the APC is covered by the EPFL Library's Open Access fund or by other sources.

Wolters Kluwer Health and the American Journal of Nursing announces 2017 winners of the annual AJN Book of the Year Awards

Wolters Kluwer Health and the American Journal of Nursing (AJN) have announced the 2017 winners of its annual AJN Book of the Year Awards honoring exceptional texts for advancing healthcare quality. The list of winners appears in the January 2018 issue of AJN, the 'leading voice of nursing since 1900.'

Evolutionary Systematics joins Pensoft's OA portfolio

Evolutionary Systematics is the latest authoritative journal to join the lines of the open access titles published on the Pensoft-developed technologically advanced journal publishing platform ARPHA. Launched in 1884 and 1912, respectively, University of Hamburg's journal Mitteilungen aus dem Hamburgischen Zoologischen Museum und Institut and Entomologische Mitteilungen are now resurrected under the name of Evolutionary Systematics.

Frontiers forms open access publishing agreement with Cardiff University

Cardiff University and Frontiers have formed an open access agreement. The Cardiff University Library Service supports its authors in publishing research articles in both Green and Gold Open Access. Under the terms of this agreement, Cardiff University-affiliated corresponding authors will benefit from a 15% discount on article-processing charges (APCs) when publishing in any of Frontiers' open access journals, irrespective of what fund covers the APC.
