Wolters Kluwer Health to acquire Emmi Solutions

The Health division of Wolters Kluwer, a global provider of information and point of care solutions for the healthcare industry, has signed an agreement to acquire Emmi Solutions (Emmi), the US providers of patient engagement solutions, for $170 million in cash. Founded in 2002, Emmi is a leading provider of comprehensive and interactive patient engagement solutions supporting healthcare providers and insurance carriers in delivering effective healthcare.

Adis teams up with Amplion to deliver biomarker data to AdisInsight users

Adis, a global provider of drug information, has announced a partnership with biomarker information provider Amplion to enrich drug and clinical trial content in the AdisInsight platform with curated biomarker data. The new data is fully integrated into the AdisInsight platform meaning that users can perform quick or advanced searches across the data, view biomarker information within drug and trial profiles, and include it with exports and alerts.

COAR releases 'Resource Type' Controlled Vocabulary for Open Access Repositories

The Confederation of Open Access Repositories (COAR) has announced the public release of the 'Resource Type' Controlled Vocabulary for Open Access Repositories, version 1.1. The vocabulary articulates the different types of content available in repositories (and other scholarly systems) in a standardised way.

ACRL releases new version Scholarly Communication Toolkit

The Association of College and Research Libraries (ACRL) has released a new version of its popular Scholarly Communication Toolkit. The Toolkit has been updated with new and revised content and is now hosted through Springshare's LibGuides. The Toolkit, developed and maintained by the ACRL Research and Scholarly Environment Committee (ReSEC), continues to provide content and context on a broad range of scholarly communications topics and offers resources and tools for the practitioner.

Thieme Chemistry releases Science of Synthesis 4.5, includes Metal-Catalysed Cyclisation Reactions and latest updates

Scientific publisher Thieme Chemistry has released the latest update of its most up-to-date evaluated digital reference work, Science of Synthesis, adding two new volumes on metal-catalysed cyclisation reactions. Europe PubMed Central (Europe PMC), a free online database of biomedical research abstracts, has added Altmetric badge visualisations to their database. The new integration offers users a colourful, collated record of online mentions, shares and discussions for each individual article.
