NFAIS to host 2016 Humanities Roundtable

The National Federation of Advanced Information Services (NFAISTM), a global nonprofit membership organisation serving the information services community, will host the NFAIS 2016 Humanities Roundtable on September 23 in Atlanta with virtual participation available from any location. 2016's event, hosted in conjunction with Atlanta's Pitts Theology Library / Candler School of Theology / Emory University, focuses on the theme of 'Digital Humanities: Preserving the Past, Capturing the Present & Building the Future.'

ACS Publications joins OpenAthens Federation

Publications division of the American Chemical Society has joined the OpenAthens access management federation. The new partnership provides ACS members and subscribers with a streamlined path to the ACS' world-leading suite of 50 journals, and hundreds of eBooks, along with additional transparency around usage data for institutions.

BirdLife Australia and Taylor & Francis announce publishing partnership

Academic publisher Taylor & Francis Group and Birdlife Australia have announced a new publishing partnership. Beginning with the 2017 volume, Taylor & Francis will publish and distribute Birdlife Australia's highly regarded journal, Emu – Austral Ornithology.

Online digital repository Figshare has announced a new partnership with Royal Society Publishing. The Royal Society is a self-governing Fellowship of many of the world's most distinguished scientists drawn from all areas of science, engineering, and medicine.

WSSA and Cambridge University Press announce new publishing partnership

The Weed Science Society of America (WSSA) and Cambridge University Press have announced the formation of a new publishing partnership beginning in January 2017. All three journals in the WSSA portfolio, Weed Science , Weed Technology, Invasive Plant Science and Management, are indexed by Thomson Reuters Journal Citation Reports and will join Cambridge's expanding list in Life Sciences.

University of Mary Washington goes live with Ex Libris Alma and Primo

Library automation solutions provider Ex Libris Group has announced that the University of Mary Washington (UMW) has gone live with the Ex Libris Alma library management service and Primo discovery and delivery solution. In 2015, after using various VTLS library solutions, including Virtua, for more than 30 years, the University of Mary Washington Libraries embarked on a process to evaluate next-generation solutions.
