Elsevier partners with the International Society for Neurovascular Disease to develop and publish co-branded neurovascular disease book series

STM publisher Elsevier has partnered with the International Society for Neurovascular Disease (ISNVD) to develop and publish an ISNVD-cobranded series of books covering various topics in neurovascular disease. The book series will focus on the latest research in diagnostic and therapeutic modalities for neurovascular disease and its underlying cellular and molecular mechanisms.

Mary M. Case begins one-year term as president of the Association of Research Libraries

Mary M. Case, university librarian and dean of libraries at University of Illinois at Chicago, began a one-year term as president of the Association of Research Libraries (ARL) on September 28, 2016, during the Association's Fall 2016 Meeting in Washington, DC. Case succeeds Larry Alford, chief librarian at University of Toronto, as ARL president. Alford continues to serve as a member of both the Board of Directors and the Executive Committee as past president.

Global library cooperative OCLC and the Society of College, National and University Libraries (SCONUL) have announced a new agreement for the provision of collaborative after-hours virtual reference services in the United Kingdom and Ireland. The agreement is based on the successful initial pilot and now, established service, run with The Northern Collaboration consortium of libraries.

Scope e-Knowledge Center to exhibit at Frankfurt Book Fair 2016

Scope e-Knowledge Center (Scope), a leading provider of knowledge services and a Quatrro Global Services company, is pleased to announce its participation at the forthcoming Frankfurt Book Fair from October 19 - 23, 2016. IPA and IFLA issue joint pledge to strive for universal access to information

The world bodies speaking for the publishing and library sectors, the International Publishers Association (IPA) and the International Federation of Library Associations and Institutions (IFLA), have pledged to find mechanisms for universal access to information, and to help national and international authorities to achieve the UN Sustainable Development Goals linked to literacy, education and reading. In a joint statement, the first UNESCO International Day for Universal Access to Information, the IPA and the IFLA declare that access to information should be universal.
