Elsevier launches new Open Access journal - Physics in Medicine

STM publisher Elsevier has announced the launch of open access journal: Physics in Medicine. Published as a quarterly journal and adding to Elsevier's expanding Physics portfolio of journals, Physics in Medicine will publish manuscripts focusing on the application of theoretical and practical physics to medicine, physiology and biology.

BMJ has partnered with the Chinese Stroke Association to publish new OA journal, Stroke and Vascular Neurology

Global healthcare knowledge provider BMJ has partnered with the Chinese Stroke Association to produce a new open access journal, Stroke and Vascular Neurology. The journal, which represents BMJ's first joint publishing venture in the People's Republic of China, will be owned by the Chinese Stroke Association (CSA), but published by BMJ.

IPEM and IOP extend partnership to create book programme

The Institute of Physics and Engineering in Medicine (IPEM) and IOP Publishing (IOP) have extended their partnership to create a new ebook programme specifically designed for the medical physics and biomedical engineering communities. The new series will begin publication in 2018.

Altmetric data now available for 2 EDP Sciences titles

EDP Sciences recently added the Altmetric data for the journals: Astronomy & Astrophysics and Parasite. Altmetric data gives users a more complete picture of how people are engaging with scholarly literature by tracking a variety of sources, including news, social media, bookmarking and peer-review forums, to provide data on the online activity surrounding each research article.

Dr. Antonio Puente named 2017 president of the American Psychological Association

Dr. Antonio Puente, professor of psychology at the University of North Carolina, Wilmington, has been elected 2017 president of the American Psychological Association. He will serve as APA's president-elect in 2016. During his presidency one of Puente's priorities will be to continue the focus on integrating psychology into comprehensive healthcare.
