Over one third of Springer's open access journals now listed in 2015 Journal Citation Reports

The Journal Citation Reports 2015® (JCR), recently released by Thomson Reuters, lists a total of 1,595 Springer journals, with 37 Springer journals joining the list for the first time. Significantly, in 2014, 82 percent of the Springer journals in the list were cited more frequently than in the previous year. Well over one half (57 percent) of Springer journals increased their impact factor in 2014 over the 2013 figure.

Elsevier announces enhancements to Reaxys Medicinal Chemistry

STM publisher Elsevier has announced enhancements to Reaxys Medicinal Chemistry that address the critical workflow and data challenges of early drug discovery. Improved discoverability and usability features for Reaxys Medicinal Chemistry, combined with Elsevier's ability to integrate in-house proprietary data, will significantly improve the efficiency of a variety of data-intensive tasks such as in-silico screening.

Wiley, Figshare partnership to support authors to openly share data

Publisher John Wiley & Sons, Inc. has announced a partnership with London- based data repository organisation, Figshare. To support authors who wish to openly share their data, Wiley has embarked on this partnership with Figshare to integrate data sharing within existing journal workflows and article publication.

SAGE acquires three journals from Federal Legal Publications

Academic publisher SAGE has announced the purchase of three journals from Federal Legal Publications, Inc. including Contemporary Drug Problems (CDX), The Antitrust Bulletin (ABX), and The Journal of Psychiatry & Law (PLX). While further publication of PLX has been discontinued, SAGE will accept submissions to ABX and CDX that align with the journals' guidelines.

APA makes content available to libraries through EBSCO eBooks

The American Psychological Association (APA) is making its e-books available to libraries on the EBSCO eBooksTM platform. The agreement with EBSCO Information Services gives libraries cost-effective access to in-demand psychology, behavioural sciences and social sciences titles.

ASTRO unveils new OA journal - Advances in Radiation Oncology, Robert C. Miller named Founding Editor

The American Society for Radiation Oncology (ASTRO) has announced the launch of its new open-access journal, Advances in Radiation Oncology, and the selection of its Founding Editor, Dr. Robert C. Miller. Advances will begin accepting manuscripts by the end of the summer with studies to be published by late 2015.

Gale, a part of Cengage Learning, has announced its certified status as a Google for Education Partner, and the integration of Google tools into Gale products. Users will now be able to seamlessly login to their school or library's Gale In Context resource using Google Account credentials and to easily download, save and share articles using Google Apps for Education including Drive and Docs.
