Interoperability Is Here — But So Is the Bigger Question  
The scholarly publishing landscape is rapidly transitioning toward interoperability, where research content seamlessly connects with AI systems to enhance discovery and collaboration. The recent launch of interoperable platforms reflects this shift, marking a move from isolated data silos to intelligent, connected ecosystems. Yet, as scientific content becomes machine-readable, questions of provenance, bias, and ethical use grow more urgent. True progress will depend on balancing speed with integrity — designing systems that are transparent, accountable, and context-aware. Interoperability should not just link information but preserve the trust and rigor that define meaningful scientific advancement.
