Elsevier provides COVID-19 online learning for nurses
Elsevier, a global leader in research publishing and information analytics, is working with the State of California Emergency Medical Services (EMS) Authority to provide COVID-19 online training to nurses in the state. The two-day online curriculum by Elsevier, created in collaboration with the American Association of Critical Care Nurses (AACN), is designed to help registered nurses enhance their clinical reasoning skills and knowledge by utilising the latest evidence-based practices and data on the novel coronavirus.
BMJ and Jisc agree to support open access publishing across the UK
Healthcare knowledge provider BMJ and not-for-profit technology provider for research and education Jisc have agreed a 'publish and read' pilot as part of their commitment to enhance knowledge and speed-up discoveries to improve healthcare across the UK. The 12-month pilot agreement builds on a long-standing collaboration between the two organisations.
AUPresses launches pilot program to pair member presses with non-member presses
The Association of University Presses (AUPresses) has launched a pilot program that seeks to deepen transnational dialogue and collaboration among mission-driven scholarly publishers. The AUPresses Global Partner Program will pair member presses with non-member presses in Africa, Asia, the Caribbean, and Latin America, aiming not only to amplify the work of presses in the 'Global South' but also to expand the knowledge base of the university press community worldwide.

Bioscientifica is launching a new, fully open-access, peer-reviewed journal, Endocrine Oncology, with free article publication charge to the journal's authors. ASM appoints Editors-in-Chief for Applied and Environmental Microbiology and Journal of Bacteriology
ASM has appointed Dr. George O'Toole and Dr. Gemma Reguera as new Editors-in-Chief (EiCs) for Journal of Bacteriology (JB) and Applied and Environmental Microbiology (AEM), respectively. Dr. O'Toole and Dr. Reguera will begin terms as Editors-in-Chief on July 1, 2021. Dr. O'Toole is currently a professor of microbiology and immunology at Dartmouth's Geisel School of Medicine.
