Wiley and the Alzheimer's Association announce publishing partnership

John Wiley and Sons Inc. and the Alzheimer's Association have announced that the Alzheimer's Association has selected Wiley as its publishing partner for its three publications - Alzheimer's & Dementia®:The Journal of the Alzheimer's Association (A&D), Alzheimer's & Dementia®:Diagnosis, Assessment & Disease Monitoring (DADM), and Alzheimer's & Dementia®:Translational Research & Clinical Interventions (TRCI). The journals will transition to the Wiley Online Library platform following the publication of the November/December 2019 issue.

Monograph continues to play a crucial role for researchers, reveals Oxford University Press and Cambridge University Press joint report

The world's two biggest university presses, Oxford University Press and Cambridge University Press, have announced the results of a joint, global survey into the future of the scholarly monograph. Oxford and Cambridge University Presses together carried out a large-scale survey over the summer. The survey was open to researchers in Humanities and Social Sciences at all stages of their careers and garnered almost 5,000 responses. The results have been released in a report entitled: Researchers' perspectives on the purpose and value of the monograph.

IEEE Technology and Data Harmonization for Enabling Remote Clinical Trials to explore enhanced technologies and methodologies

Technical professional organisation IEEE and the IEEE Standards Association (IEEE SA) have announced the launch of an IEEE Industry Connections activity entitled Technology and Data Harmonization for Enabling Remote Clinical Trials. As a first step, an assimilated forum will be established for evaluating and testing the best methods to achieve data outputs and capabilities supporting clinical trials, which will require extensive process changes in order to evolve into the digital era.

Kompass Neumología is the latest journal from Karger Publishers that is tailored to the needs of clinicians from Latin America. It is therefore published in Spanish. The journal aims to close the existing knowledge gap between research and healthcare in this region. Karger Publishers is launching Kompass Neumología, a journal which breaks down research into more accessible, practical content and presents those in the Spanish language.

Annette Trimbee appointed Chair of the Board of Directors of the Canadian Research Knowledge Network

The Canadian Research Knowledge Network (CRKN) is pleased to announce the appointment of Dr. Annette Trimbee as Chair of its Board of Directors for a three-year term, commencing October 17, 2019. Dr. Trimbee will succeed Dr. Alan Shepard, who served a three-year term beginning in 2016. She currently serves on the boards of Universities Canada and USports, which oversees sports at 56 Canadian universities.
