Academic publisher Taylor & Francis Group has acquired the Open Access (OA) publisher, Dove Medical Press. The acquisition signals Taylor & Francis Group's ongoing commitment to developing both its Medical Journal and OA programs.

LIBER signs open letter calling for revised Text and Data Mining (TDM) exception

Twenty organisations, including LIBER, have signed an open letter to European lawmakers calling for changes to a proposed Text and Data Mining exception. Coordinated by the European Alliance for Research Excellence, the letter asks Members of the Legal Affairs Committee (JURI) in the European Parliament and Deputy Permanent Representatives of the 28 Member States to fix the Text and Data Mining (TDM) exception in the European Commission's proposal for a Directive on Copyright in the Digital Single Market.

NISO releases Issues in Vocabulary Management Technical Report

The National Information Standards Organization (NISO) has announced the publication of a new Technical Report, NISO TR-06-2017, Issues in Vocabulary Management. This document is one outcome of the NISO Bibliographic Roadmap Development Project, which was conducted in 2013-14 with funding from the Andrew W. Mellon Foundation.
