Joint white paper explores Chinese nanoscience and technology

Springer Nature, the National Center for Nanoscience and Technology, China, and the National Science Library of the Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS) released in both Chinese and English a white paper entitled 'Small Science in Big China: An overview of the state of Chinese nanoscience and technology' at NanoChina 2017, an international conference on nanoscience and technology held August 28 and 29 in Beijing. The white paper looks at the rapid growth of China's nanoscience research into its current role as the world's leader, examines China's strengths and challenges, and makes some suggestions for how its contribution to the field can continue to thrive.

Wolters Kluwer to publish the Journal of the American Association of Nurse Practitioners

Wolters Kluwer Health has announced a new publishing partnership with the American Association of Nurse Practitioners (AANP). Beginning with the January 2018 issue, Wolters Kluwer will publish The Journal of the American Association of Nurse Practitioners (JAANP) an official, scholarly, peer-reviewed journal of the AANP, as part of its Lippincott journal portfolio.

Montreal Neurological Institute and Hospital (MNI) has announced a partnership with F1000, a provider of support services for researchers, institutes and funders, to create a publishing platform for MNI researchers that will speed the progress of neuroscience discovery. The MNI is partnering with F1000 to create a new open research publishing platform called MNI Open Research.

Elsevier updates second volume of Methods in Stream Ecology

STM publisher Elsevier has announced the publication of Methods in Stream Ecology, Volume 2: Ecosystem Function, Third Edition, edited by F. Richard Hauer and Gary A. Lamberti. Updated to reflect recent advances in the technology associated with ecological assessment of streams - including remote sensing - Volume 2 covers community interactions, ecosystem processes and ecosystem quality. Elsevier also announced the publication of seven additional earth and environmental sciences books.

Frank Vrancken Peeters to join Springer Nature as Chief Commercial Officer

Senior publishing executive Frank Vrancken Peeters will join Springer Nature as Chief Commercial Officer on September 4th. This newly created Management Board level appointment has been established to support the future growth and strategy of the group. Frank will report in the short term to Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Derk Haank and then from October 1st to the new CEO of Springer Nature, Daniel Ropers.

These include INA-Rxiv, the preprint server of Indonesia; LISSA, an open scholarly platform for library and information science; MindRxiv, a service for research on mind and contemplative practices; NutriXiv, a preprint service for the nutritional sciences; paleorXiv, a digital archive for Paleontology; and SportRxiv, an open archive for sport and exercise-related research.
