Researchers from universities across Israel to benefit from CAS solutions

Chemical Abstracts Service (CAS), a division of the American Chemical Society, and MALMAD consortium - Israeli Center for Digital Information Services have announced a five-year agreement to provide SciFinder® with PatentPakTM access to all universities in Israel. PatentPak, a robust new workflow solution from CAS, saves users half the time they spend researching patents by providing instant access to hard-to-find chemistry in patents and patent families in languages users know.

IEEE, Elsevier and the Institution of Engineering and Technology join together to create recommendations regarding best practices

IEEE, the world's largest professional organisation dedicated to advancing technology, is working with other publishing organisations, Elsevier and the Institute of Engineering and Technology (IET), to create recommendations regarding best practices to help ensure technical conference content quality. The recommendations can be found in IEEE's White Paper on Ensuring Conference Content Quality.

Mellon Foundation grant to help Northwestern University Press digitize, increase access to out-of-print titles

Northwestern University Press recently received a three-year, $73,000 grant from The Andrew W. Mellon Foundation to digitise important but out-of-print titles. The grant will also help underscore the importance of open access research studies in the humanities, giving a new generation of readers unprecedented access to this work.

Brill adds Méthexis: International Journal for Ancient Philosophy to its portfolio of Ancient Philosophy

International scholarly publisher Brill is set to add the journal Méthexis: International Journal for Ancient Philosophy (Rivista internazionale di filosofia antica) formerly published by Academia Verlag (Germany). Founded in 1988, Méthexis seeks to be an international platform for the publication of scholarly material in ancient philosophy in many languages in particular Italian, Spanish, English, and French.
