Altmetric adds ORCID search functionality

Altmetric has released a new functionality enabling users to search the entire Altmetric database, which contains attention data for over 4 million research outputs, by ORCID iD - making it easy for researchers, publishers, librarians and other users to uncover the online mentions and shares of scholarly content associated with the ORCID profile of a specific author. As one of the early members of ORCID, Altmetric is committed to helping users get the most out of their ORCID profiles.

CHORUS and NSF in deal to advance public access to research

CHORUS, a non-profit organisation, has announced an agreement with the National Science Foundation (NSF), as part of the agency's continued commitment to expand public access to the results of its funded research. The new agreement is in accordance with the NSF public access plan, which was released on March 18, 2015.

National Library of New Zealand selects Ex Libris Cloud solutions

Library automation solutions provider Ex Libris® Group has announced that the National Library of New Zealand has adopted the Ex Libris Alma® resource management solution and the Ex Libris Primo® discovery and delivery solution, with its Primo Central index of scholarly e-resources. As a result the National Library will deploy a fully integrated platform to manage and expose its vast collections of electronic, print, and digital resources.

National Library of Portugal becomes latest member to join Open Preservation Foundation

The Open Preservation Foundation (OPF) has welcomed the National Library of Portugal (Biblioteca Nacional de Portugal) as its latest affiliate member. Founded in 1796, the National Library of Portugal (NLP) holds the largest historical and cultural bibliographic collection in the country with over 3.5 million items from a wide range of genres, both in print and manuscript.
