Operationalizing Research Integrity in an AI-Driven Publishing Era
Research integrity remains central to scholarly publishing, yet the challenge today lies less in defining standards and more in enforcing them consistently across complex, high-volume workflows. Integrity must shift from being a series of isolated checks to a system embedded throughout the research lifecycle. By enabling early risk detection, strengthening review processes, and extending oversight beyond publication, AI helps publishers move from reactive interventions to continuous assurance. When integrated into everyday workflows, integrity becomes operational rather than episodic. The result is a more scalable, transparent, and resilient publishing ecosystem. One where human editorial judgment is supported, not replaced, and trust in the scholarly record is reinforced at every stage.
