Building the Future of Open Access on Intelligent Infrastructure  
AI is rapidly becoming integral to Open Access (OA) infrastructure, enabling semantic enrichment, auto-tagging, and improved discoverability across growing repositories. These capabilities help researchers navigate vast volumes of open content and support more inclusive access to knowledge. AI is also being used to automate compliance with funder mandates, reducing the administrative load on authors and institutions. As OA systems evolve, responsible deployment of AI remains critical to avoid reinforcing existing biases. When implemented transparently, AI has the potential to make OA not just open in name, but truly accessible and equitable.
