Elsevier to introduce next-generation personalised learning solution, Sherpath , at NLN Education Summit

STM publisher Elsevier will unveil its new, next-generation personalised learning solution at the National League for Nursing (NLN) Education Summit, from September 30 - October 2, in Las Vegas. The first of its kind for nursing education, Sherpath uses data, analytics and adaptive techniques to track students' interactions with content, assessments and simulations while providing a highly focused learning path for each student.

Cornell University Library and ProQuest partner for faster, more efficient book selection and acquisition

ProQuest is working with Cornell University Library to develop a dynamic book-selection system that will aggregate metadata from multiple sources into a single streamlined interface. This will enable highly efficient selection and acquisitions workflows. The custom interface is part of a new agreement in which Cornell University Library will use ProQuest as the primary source for its English-language print books, a significant expansion of Cornell University Library's long-standing relationship with Coutts Information Services for print and ebook Demand-Driven Acquisition (DDA) programs.

Scope's Hot Spot presentation at Frankfurt Book Fair to focus on Deep Indexing for Enhanced Researchability

Elsevier and NADONA/LTC announce collaboration on eLearning product

STM publisher Elsevier has announced a collaboration in the development of Mosby's Care Assistant Curriculum with the National Association of Directors of Nursing Administration in Long Term Care (NADONA/LTC), the largest organisation dedicated exclusively to providing education, communication, and services to nurse leaders and nurse executives in the long-term and post-acute care continuum. North Rhine-Westphalian Library Service Centre to add 19 million records to WorldCat

The North Rhine-Westphalian Library Service Centre (hbz), a library consortium in Germany's most populous state, has signed an agreement with OCLC to add 19 million bibliographic records from the consortium to WorldCat, making these valuable collections more visible and accessible to scholars around the world. Based in Cologne, hbz works as a central development and service organisation for university, college and specialised libraries, as well as data processing centers in the state of North Rhine-Westphalia.

Sheridan expands print management system to accommodate self-service Pod orders

Sheridan has expanded its automated print management system, Sheridan Select, to include a self-service component granting publishers the ability to upload a book or journal title and place a print-on-demand (POD) order within a single transaction. Upon logging in to the Sheridan Select portal and initiating a POD order, publishers are now provided the ability to define and order brand new titles in addition to selecting from their existing titles.
