Thomson Reuters and the National Research Foundation of Korea announce new initiative to integrate content within Korean Citation Index into Web of Science

The Intellectual Property & Science business of Thomson Reuters and the National Research Foundation of Korea (NRF), have announced an initiative to expand the global imprint of the region's scientific research by integrating content within the Korean Citation Index (KCI) into the Web of Science. By collaborating with Thomson Reuters, NRF hopes to increase the global impact of Korean research and international exposure of Korean journals, and encourage more scholarly exchange between South Korea and the rest of the world.

Elsevier unveils latest title in the Current Opinion journal series - Current Opinion in Food Science

STM publisher Elsevier has announced the launch of the latest title in the Current Opinion journal series: Current Opinion in Food Science. The journal will provide specialists with a new platform to keep up–to–date with the expanding volume of information published in the field of food science. All published articles will be freely available throughout 2015.

25 Russian and Belarusian Universities select EBSCO Discovery Service

EBSCO Information Services (EBSCO) has announced that its EBSCO Discovery ServiceTM (EDS) is now being used by more universities and academic institutions in Russia and Belarus. To date, 25 institutions have chosen EDS as their discovery solution. EBSCO Discovery Service creates a unified, customised index of an institution's information resources, and an easy, yet powerful means of accessing all of that content from a single search box.

SPIE Digital Library now available to high schools, two-year colleges at no or low cost

SPIE, the international society for optics and photonics, has announced that it is making access to the complete SPIE Digital Library available to high schools for free and two-year colleges at a subsidised price. The SPIE Digital Library contains more than 420,000 articles from SPIE journals and proceedings, as well as more than 200 eBooks.

Jisc Digital Festival 2015 opens for registration

Jisc has announced that registration for the Jisc Digital Festival 2015 is now open. The festival, scheduled for March 9-10, 2015 at the ICC in Birmingham, will showcase the very best in UK digital talent. Simon Nelson, chief executive of FutureLearn, is confirmed as one of four keynote speakers at the festival.
