New Knovel application enables building information management system users to search Knovel within Revit

STM publisher Elsevier has introduced Knovel Quick Search for Autodesk Revit. The Knovel application provides users of Autodesk's building information management (BIM) system, with seamless access to Knovel from within the Revit platform. Knovel is a cloud-based application that integrates technical information with analytical and search tools.

ProQuest Collections now indexed and discoverable via Ex Libris Primo Central Index

Information industry leaders ProQuest and Ex Libris® Group have announced that over 200 of ProQuest's most widely used databases have been indexed in the Ex Libris Primo Central Index of scholarly electronic resources, making the content easily discoverable via the Ex Libris Primo discovery service. The collaboration between ProQuest and Ex Libris began earlier in 2014 with an agreement to index ProQuest full-text and A&I databases in Primo Central.

Lippincott Procedures online software updated, nearly 400 AMSN-endorsed medical-surgical procedures to go online by mid-2015

Healthcare information provider Wolters Kluwer Health has updated the Lippincott Procedures online software with a set of medical-surgical nursing procedures that underwent extensive review by the Academy of Medical-Surgical Nurses (AMSN). One-quarter of the 395 AMSN-endorsed procedures are included in the October Lippincott Procedures update with the remainder to be released quarterly through July 2015.

Dr. Carolyn Bertozzi named founding editor-in-chief of ACS Central Science journal

The American Chemical Society (ACS) has announced that internationally renowned chemist Dr. Carolyn Bertozzi will take the helm as editor-in-chief of its first fully open access journal, ACS Central Science, which is set to launch in early 2015. Currently a Howard Hughes Medical Institute (HHMI) investigator at the University of California at Berkeley, Bertozzi is widely recognized as one of the most accomplished and respected chemists of her generation.

De Gruyter Open to convert eight subscription journals to Open Access mega journals

Open Access publisher De Gruyter Open has announced that it will publish a group of eight Central European Journals now distributed in subscription model by Springer and turn them to Open Access, starting with volume 2015. This is a move unprecedented for a group of STM journals, being supplemented by three new launches in the humanities.

Intermountain Healthcare to consult with Cerner on DHMSM program

Cerner recently announced a strategic agreement with Intermountain Healthcare to provide clinical governance of solutions and workflow to be proposed for the Department of Defense's Healthcare Management System Modernization (DHMSM) initiative. Cerner is a member of the Leidos Partnership for Defense Health, an alliance that includes Leidos, the domain experts in Military Health, and Accenture, a global IT and management consulting.

Oxford University Press announces free access to Electronic Enlightenment for British Library users

Academic publisher Oxford University Press (OUP) has announced that users of the British Library will now be able to use the Electronic Enlightenment (EE) online resource as part of a two year trial. Electronic Enlightenment is a project based at the Bodleian Library, University of Oxford, and distributed by Oxford University Press. It is available by annual subscription to institutions and individuals worldwide.
